JAMES M. CHANDLER was born August 13, 1827, in Person County, N.C., andin 1829 removed with his parents to Hopkins (now Webster) County, Ky.,where he has since resided. In 1861 he enlisted in Company A, EighthKentucky Infantry, in which he remained for more than three years. Hisfather, Washington Chandler, a native of Person County, N.C., died in1878, at the age of seventy-five years. He was the son of John, of NorthCarolina, and married Lethey, daughter of William and Polly Morrow, ofPerson County, who died in 1854. This union resulted in the birth ofRebecca (Mitchel), James M., William M., Mary A. (Hobgood), Sarah J.(Shelton), and Stephen. December 22, 1848, James M. married Margaret J.,daughter of Alexander and Bethany (Phillips) Ramsey, of Webster County,born January 30, 1831, and to them have been born Mary E. (Jenkins),Alexander W., (deceased), Sarah J. (Presley), Margaret A., James J., Jr.,William T., Laura J., Queen L. and Orlando S. Mr. Chandler is a farmer,having 150 acres of fair land, in a good state of cultivation. Mrs. C.W. Husky, 58, died at her home in the Mt. Pleasant section near
Slaughters at 6 a.m. Wednesday following an illness of two weeks.
Survivors are the husband, C.W. Husky; one son, Raymond Thomas Husky, of
Slaughters; four daughters, Mrs. William Sizemore, Mrs. Guy Pritchett, and
Mrs. James Hubbard of Slaughters, and Mrs. Joe Hollis of Providence; ten
grandchildren; four brothers, Frank Chandler of Slaughters, Floyd Chandler
of Evansville, Charlie and Bud Chandler of Mishawaka, Ind., and three
sisters, Mrs. Whit Brown of Madisonville, Mrs. Si Williams of Evansville,
and Mrs. Willie Atkins of Slaughters.
Funeral services were to be held at 2 o'clock this afternoon in the Mt.
Pleasant church with the Rev. L.F. Piercy of Slaughters officiating.
Burial was to be in the church cemetery.

WILLIAM M. CHANDLER was born in Person County, N.C., January 16, 1829. Heis of English descent and the son of Washington and Letha (Morrow)Chandler. The ancestors of subject were all natives of North Carolina.His father was born in 1803 and his mother in 1806. The Chandler familylanded in Hopkins County, KY., January 25, 1829, after a lengthy tripfrom North Carolina. When subject attained his majority, he beganfarming. In 1850 he came to what was then Henderson (now Webster) County.For thirty-three years he was a tiller of the soil. In 1882 he came toSebree and engaged in the milling business, which he still continues. Hepurchased what is known as the Singer Mill, which is one of the best inthe county. It has a capacity of about twenty barrels of flour and willgrind 150 bushels of corn per day; it is in good running order and isworth $5,000. Mr. Chandler was married in 1849 to Miss Eliza J. Parker,by whom he had eight children, four of whom are living. Mrs. Chandlerdied in 1867, and the following year Mr. Chandler married Miss BettieIsbell, and to this union have been born six children, two of whomsurvive.
